Welcome to the OCEAN REEF NEPTUNE III Service technician course.

This online course is available for current OCEAN REEF Level 2 Service technicians with an OCEAN REEF Dealer affiliation.
Your OCEAN REEF Level 2 service technician certification must be valid and will be checked as part of the enrollment procedure.


 This NEPTUNE III module contains 10 lessons covering the Level 1 and 2 technician information. All lesson comes with written instructions, video demonstrations and review questions. All review questions must be answered 100% correctly to pass for this course.

Passing for this course will certify you to work on the NEPTUNE III mask and order parts as described as Level 0, 1 and 2 parts.


Topics of this course are:

  1.  Level 1 procedures:
    - Separation and installation of mask and 2nd stage regulator;
    - Separation and installation of level 1 technician parts.

  2.  Level 2 technician procedures:
     - Disassembly of all NEPTUNE III parts and 2nd stage regulator;
     - Assembly & Tuning of NEPTUNE III 2nd stage regulator.

Exam and Training Kit

To obtain the NEPTUNE III Service Technician certification it is necessary to take a practical exam, with our training kit.

  • Training Kit

    As a part of the course procedure, OCEAN REEF will send you a NEPTUNE III training 2nd stage regulator. This training regulator can be used by yourself to get familiar with the procedures of disassembly, tuning, and assembly. As soon as you feel comfortable enough, you will make an appointment with your assigned STT for the practical evaluation of the course through an VIDEO conference session, where you will demonstrate your skills.

  • Exam

    After the VIDEO conference and your final assembly of the Neptune III regulator, you need to send back the NEPTUNE III training regulator for a final performance check by our in-house technician.

  • Diploma

    After a successful evaluation, you will receive the NEPTUNE III Service technician certification. The NEPTUNE III certification will be credited to your current Service Technician status and will not affect the validation time of your Level 2 certification.

Tools you need to work on the NEPTUNE III

Tools to be used by the Level 1 Technician:

  • OCEAN REEF Multi-tool
  • "L" shaped Allen wrench
  • 2 mm compass spanner
  • Large flathead screwdriver (or OCEAN REEF Multi-tool)
  • T20 Torx screwdriver
  • T10 Torx screwdriver
  • PH1 Philips screwdriver 


Tools for a Level 2 Service Technician:

  • Small flathead screwdriver
  • Medium flathead screwdriver 
  • T8 Torx screwdriver
  • T10 Torx screwdriver
  • T20 Torx screwdriver 
  • 19 mm spanner wrench
  • O-ring pick
  • 2 mm compass spanner 
  • 1.6 mm external Seeger pincher pliers (snap clip pliers)
  • 2.5 mm Allen wrench
  • Magnehelic test bench
  • (optional) Flow meter tester  

Required special Tool for NEPTUNE III Tuning:

Please make sure to have all the required tools. OCEAN REEF offers a basic Tool kit and a more luxury Tool kit with some extra generic tools.



Shipping costs

Note that the shipping cost of the Training regulator and tools are at your expense. The Training regulator will have to be sent back to the place indicated by your reference STT to be inspected.

To optimize times and reduce delivery costs, we advise you to request to combine the shipment of the training regulator with a regular product order.

When we receive the training kit back, the STT will carefully check that the regulator is assembled and tuned correctly. After the final verification, you will get your diploma by e-mail. We remind you the NEPTUNE III will not affect your original validation time of the Level 2 Service Technician certification that has a 3-year deadline, at the end of which it will be necessary to renew by attending a recertification course including the NEPTUNE III.

TRAINING KIT

To obtain the NEPTUNE III Service Technician certification it is necessary to take a practical exam, with our training kit. The training kit consists of a NEPTUNE III regulator you can practice with, after the proper online lessons and with the support of your STT. The Training kit must be returned to OCEAN REEF within 6 weeks upon receipt.
If Training kit is not returned within the allotted time frame, Ocean Reef will charge the amount of $300.00
